At the IPL 2024 auction, RCB took a calculated risk by focusing on strengthening their bowling lineup.
In spite of a strong offer for Pat Cummins, who ultimately signed a contract with SRH for an incredible 20 crore, RCB strategically signed Alzarri Joseph for 11.5 crore. RCB made smart decisions in the rapid IPL 2024 auction by acquiring pace sensation Lockie Ferguson of New Zealand and England's Tom Curran for extremely low prices of 1.5 and 2 crores, respectively. It was surprise that RCB purchased Tom Curran at his base price of Rs. 1.5 crore during the end of the auction. It was a surprising buy from RCB because RCB had already bought Alzarri Joseph and Lockie Ferguson in the auction.
In the final moments of the auction, RCB cleverly acquired Saurav Chauhan and Swapnil Singh at their base prices of 20 lakh each, adding the finishing touches.

In IPL 2023 RCB struggled in their bowling department although this year RCB let go their premium bowler Harshal Patel but with the introduction of Yash Dayal, Alzarri Joseph and Lockie Ferguson their bowling is now looking strong. Only concern will be their Spin department. After departure of Y. Chahal RCB never have a strong Spin department.
