RCB is a franchise which is know for its most loyal fan base but the fact is that they have not been able to see their team lifting that IPL trophy in the last 17 years of IPL history which will be in the mind of every players and management of RCB team. What is seen over the year is that the team like CSK and MI won the trophy in auction itself by buying the players who they think can do certain job for them but opposite to that RCB always go for one or two big names for big price which costs their team balance. But if they want to win this year they have to plan very carefully this year as they have let go many of their regular players like Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood
In this post we will have a look at IPL 2024 auction preview, Strengths, weaknesses, purse remaining, targets, players released retained and traded players of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

IPL 2024 Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team auction preview: - Strengths
World class Top Order Batsman
RCB
is one of those teams in IPL who is known for its heavy top order batting . Any team which have Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plesis, Glenn Maxwell and
an Indian superstar Rajat Patidar and now Cameron Green in their top order that
team will be a team to bowl at for oppositon. The top order which
seems to crumble last year now looks stabilized. Overall their batting looks
good but Dinesh Kartik have to perform finisher role really well otherwise they
will be in trouble more often than not.
Leadership of Faf Du Plesis
Faf
has proven right, the decision of RCB to make him Captain of the side. In the last two
years when ever Faf captained the side the side looks unbeatable. They started
winning from nowhere. Now you will not see this team in worry under pressure
which they use to do previously which costed them trophy some times.
IPL 2024 Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team auction preview: Weaknesses
Lack of quality in Fast Bowling
After the realise of the likes of Hazelwood and Harshal their fast bowling looks very inexperience as Siraj is only experienced fast bowler currently in RCB squad. Siraj is not yet proven in T20 specially when bowl did not swing much which we saw in recently concluded World Cup 2023. On the ground like M. Chinnaswamy you will need some experienced death over fast bowlers.
Lack of quality Spin Bowlers
After the release of Hasranga they have left with no proper leg spinner in their squad. Recently it is seen that M. Chinnaswamy stadium is suited for spinners.
This mismanagement in the bowling department in RCB squad will be a
concern when they will defend scores

Here are Five Players CSK Could Target in
IPL 2024:
Mitchell Starc

Harshal Patel

It's
interesting to note that Harshal Patel's measured release offers RCB with an
opportunity to buy back him at less money. Patel is an invaluable asset because
of his proven ability to perform well under stress and deliver at key
junctures. The move by RCB to release him seems to be a calculated attempt to
get a better price for his services in the IPL 2024 auction, giving them yet
another chance to take benefit of his match-winning skills.
Wanindu Hasaranga

RCB has left with no spinner in their squad and it may seems like strategic move by RCB to buy back Hasranga at some few less crore than what he was getting previously. He is a talented bowler with the ability to score few runs lower down the order makes him more valuable for the team.
Daniel Sams
Daniel Sams (Image Source- twitter) |
Daniel Sams, released by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), emerges as a potential target for RCB, especially after parting ways with David Willey, Wayne Parnell and Harshal Patel. Sams, an Australian cricketer, brings a versatile skill set to the table. Apart from his proficiency in bowling, he has the ability to contribute with the bat, scoring handy runs lower down the order. His skills make him a valuable all-rounder, filling a crucial role in the lower order for RCB.
Shahrukh Khan

With Dinesh Kartik performance below par previous year will make RCB to think of buying a proper Indian Finisher. Shahrukh is an invaluable asset to any IPL team because of his ability to be both a proficient batter and an effective off-spinner. RCB's top order filled with destructive foreign batters like Faf du Plessis Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green, so they will need a dynamic Indian batter lower down the order to partner Dinesh Kartik. In this context, Shahrukh becomes a compelling option, capable of providing the explosive firepower required alongside the experienced Dinesh Kartik in the lower middle order.
